I brought my BMW M5 Touring to Motorworks West after the dealership was unable to resolve a complicated audio issue. Steve quickly figured out the problem and fixed everything. He is incredibly knowledgeable… honestly, the guy is a genius when it comes to BMWs.
The service was professional, the pricing was very fair, and the entire experience was excellent. It’s difficult to find a shop you can truly trust with a car like this, but Motorworks West has definitely earned my trust. I highly recommend Steve and his team.

Professional, knowledgeable, courteous, clean, transparent and most of all enthusiast of performance vehicles from Deutschland-notably BMW M.
But it doesn't stop there- your customer with the most basic need, to complex issues- that is the sign of a good shop. I sat and listened while the M was being worked on witnessed Steve and his team handle business.

Failed to diagnose a faulty fuel pressure regulator. $220 for 1 hour of their "diagnostics", yielded nothing. Gave me back my key. Car was fixed elsewhere.

To provide additional context, the vehicle arrived with the fault codes already cleared and several components had been replaced prior to coming to our shop. Because the concern was intermittent, there were no stored faults or active symptoms to diagnose during your visit.
Our technicians performed extensive testing and drove the vehicle over multiple days in an effort to duplicate the issue. At that time, all test results were within specification, and without the fault occurring or any diagnostic data to analyze, it was not possible to accurately identify the failed component.
We explained that if the concern returned, we would continue the diagnostic process without charging you a second diagnostic fee, as capturing the fault while it was occurring was necessary to pinpoint the root cause. Our goal is always to diagnose vehicles accurately rather than replace parts based on guesswork.
We understand your frustration and appreciate your feedback. We wish you the best with your vehicle.

The team at Motor Works West saved me from a $13,000 repair that BMW had recommended. After a thorough inspection, they correctly diagnosed the issue as a broken DEF injector, which ended up costing only about $1,000 to fix.
Their honesty, expertise, and attention to detail saved me a significant amount of money. The pricing is fair, the communication is excellent, and they complete work in a timely manner. It’s rare to find a shop you can genuinely trust.
I’ll be bringing all of my cars here going forward and highly recommend Motor Works West to anyone looking for trustworthy, knowledgeable, and fairly priced service.

Outstanding Independent BMW Service. Their communication is excellent and they explain everything clearly, respond quickly to texts/calls, and keep you up to date while your vehicle is in for service.
Scheduling is easy and prompt, and prices are fair and transparent. I feel completely confident they have my best interests in mind.
Motor Works West are straightforward and trustworthy and they never upsell or invent problems.
If you own a BMW and want honest, high-quality independent service at a reasonable price, this is the place.. their snack game in the waiting room is also top-notch.

John & Steve were very knowledgeable and helpful! The tailgate on my 2014 X3 would not open at all. They were able to diagnose the problem and get the tailgate to open. They also performed a wheel alignment and oil change. I have used Motor Werks West previously. This is the place to go to get your BMW serviced.

Best mechanic I've been to by far and will now be my go-to. Excellent & clear communication, friendly staff, fair prices, and ease of the entire process with their tech and customer service system. They also came in clutch recently in replacing a tire that popped, and I got my car back the next day. Refreshing to find a reliable and fair mechanic.
