About Motor Works West

European auto specialists in Wyckoff since 1991

Motor Works West is an independent European repair shop at 471 W Main St in Wyckoff. Since 1991 we’ve serviced BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Audi, MINI and Porsche for drivers across Bergen County, with factory-trained master technicians on staff.

Our customers want dealer-level work without the dealership runaround. Here you deal with advisors who know you and your car, your vehicle is worked on by technicians who know the platform, and you get straight answers and clear pricing.

Diagnostics is our specialty

Modern European cars are complicated, and guessing gets expensive. We find the actual cause of a problem before we recommend a repair, using dealer-level diagnostic software and factory test procedures for each brand we service.

Steven Smith

Owner

I’m Steven Smith, owner of Motor Works West and a BMW master technician. My career started in 2012 at a BMW dealership, where I trained on these cars and learned to diagnose and repair them the factory way. In 2018 I bought Motor Works West, which let me pair that technical background with my own vision for how a shop should treat its customers.

I still work on cars alongside running the business. I keep investing in diagnostic equipment, training and my team, because these vehicles get more complex every year. My focus is thorough diagnostics, clear communication and long-term relationships with our customers.

Teaching is my other passion. As a technician trainer for Tech Fix’s Euro division, I train technicians around the country on BMW.

The Team

Our team includes factory-trained master technicians and ASE-certified techs, along with service advisors who keep you informed from drop-off to pickup.

European cars change every model year, so training here never stops. Our technicians and service advisors both train throughout the year to stay current on new systems, software and repair procedures.
